Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that 2.000 Ukrainian children held captive by Russia have been returned to the country to date.
"Each of these returns was made possible thanks to the daily efforts of our people, civil society organizations, and our international partners. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to this fight for the future of our children, our country, and the entire free world," Zelensky wrote today on the X platform.
The President of Ukraine added that the road to the return of all children is long and difficult.
"Thousands of Ukrainian children are still in captivity in Russia and are becoming victims of its crimes every day," Zelensky added.
