Polish Defense Minister Marijuš Blaščak called the participants of the LGBT parade held last weekend in Poznań "sodomists".
Blaščak told the Catholic pro-government television Trwam that the march of 5.000 people in Poznań was an example of local authorities focusing on ideology instead of dealing with everyday municipal issues.
The Polish minister called the gathering "another parade of sodomists trying to impose their own vision of civil rights on other people."
With his statement, Blaščak wanted to discredit the local authorities of Poznań, which oppose the conservative views of the government, according to AP.
Attitudes to homosexuality are different in Poland, where many cities are more open to it but face strong opposition from the conservative government.
