German prosecutors announced today that two people have been arrested on suspicion of spying for Russia and gathering intelligence on a person who supplied Ukraine with drones and related components.

The prosecutor's office said in a statement that Ukrainian citizen Sergej N. was arrested in Spain, while Romanian citizen Ala S. was arrested in Germany, Reuters reports.

"Since December 2025, Sergei N. has been spying on a person in Germany on behalf of Russian intelligence. This person has been supplying Ukraine with drones and related components," the statement said, citing the charges in the arrest warrant.

The defendants allegedly "collected information online and filmed the victim's workplace."

"When Sergey N. moved to Spain, Ala S. took over his task until March 2026 at the latest," the statement added.
