Russian attacks have damaged two power plants in the Chernihiv region of northern Ukraine, leaving nearly 212.000 customers without electricity, the regional electricity distribution company Chernihivblenergo said today.
The company said nearly 150.000 customers in the city of Chernihiv and surrounding areas were left without electricity after a Russian attack damaged a power facility, and later added that nearly 62.000 customers were left without power in three other districts in the region after an attack on a facility in Nizhynskyi district, Reuters reports.
The Ukrainian Air Force said that Russia launched 147 drones to the ground overnight, of which 121 were shot down or neutralized.
Chernihiv has been hit hard by power outages during the winter, and a similar attack on Saturday left much of the region without electricity.
Nearly 21.000 residents of the town of Slavutych, located in neighboring Kyiv Oblast, were also temporarily left without electricity after the morning attack, the regional governor wrote on Telegram.
