Peter Mađar: We have been warning for weeks about possible operations by Orban with the support of Serbia and Russia

Hungarian opposition leader Peter Magyar said today that for weeks he and his Tisza party have been receiving warnings from multiple sources that, after previous failed operations and a decline in support for Fidesz, Prime Minister Viktor Orban, with the help of Serbia and Russia, may be planning to "cross another border" to postpone or cancel the elections.

"Many people have suggested that something could happen by accident in Serbia, possibly related to the gas pipeline, around Easter, a week before the Hungarian elections. And now it has," wrote a Hungarian on the social network X, reacting to news of the alleged discovery of explosive devices near the gas infrastructure connecting Serbia and Hungary.

The Hungarian Prime Minister scheduled an emergency meeting of the Defense Council during the day, after Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić informed him that Serbian authorities had found an explosive device on the gas infrastructure connecting Serbia and Hungary.

The Hungarian called on Prime Minister Orban to immediately inform the public about these events and to invite him to a meeting of the Defense Council, "because whoever organized this provocation, the situation will have to be resolved by the new government that he hopes to lead after the parliamentary elections scheduled for April 12."

"I further call on Viktor Orban to stop - at least during the holidays - spreading panic and causing unrest, as planned by his Russian advisors. I also want to make it clear that he (Orban) will not be able to prevent the elections," added the Hungarian, who has a significant lead according to polls.

According to him, Orban will not be able to prevent millions of Hungarians from "ending the two most corrupt decades in the country's history."

"The Hungarian people's trust in the country's security services has justifiably been shaken by a series of intelligence-related scandals revealed in recent weeks. Hungarians have every reason to fear that the outgoing prime minister, following the advice of Russian agents, is trying to instill fear in his people through fake operations," the opposition leader added.

"If Orban and his propaganda machine use this provocation for campaign purposes, it will amount to an open admission that it was a pre-planned operation," he said.

The Hungarian added that his government would conduct a comprehensive and transparent investigation to determine who was politically responsible and who committed crimes against the country.

According to him, with the new government, order, peace, security and prosperity will reign in Hungary again.

"The new government will be able to ensure Hungary's security within the alliance system of the European Union and NATO, precisely the alliance system that the Fidesz parties plan to leave," the Hungarian concluded.

The Serbian Ministry of Defense confirmed today that a large quantity of explosives was found during a search in the territory of Kanjiža, as well as items and tools necessary for their preparation and use, as previously reported by the media and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
