The president of the Freedom and Justice Party (SSP), Dragan Đilas, congratulated the leader of the opposition Tisa, Peter Magyar, on his victory in the parliamentary elections in Hungary last night and expressed hope that "freedom will soon come to Serbia."
"The energy felt by the citizens of Hungary tonight is what we in Serbia also strive for - the moment when autocracy leaves and hope returns... We want such a change in Serbia. Congratulations on the victory and the courage to return Hungary to the path of freedom, justice and Europe! Soon freedom will come to Serbia!", Đilas said in a statement.
He added that the current Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, has experienced a political debacle.
"Alexander Vučić's closest political and business partner, Viktor Orban, the man with whom he was just a few days ago fabricating 'terrorist threats', has experienced a political debacle. The citizens of Hungary have not forgiven him for either his distancing from Europe or his systemic corruption, and have placed their trust in Peter Magyar," Đilas added.
Viktor Orban admitted defeat in the Hungarian elections tonight and congratulated opposition rival Peter Magyar on his victory.
