A student killed at least four people, including other students, and wounded at least 20 others at a high school in southeastern Turkey, the local governor said, the second school attack in the country in two days.
Three students and one teacher were killed in the incident in Kahramanmaraş province, Governor Mikerem Unluer told reporters.
The attacker died during the attack, Reuters reports.
The governor added that the student was in the eighth grade of the school and had hidden his father's weapon in his backpack to carry out the attack.
School shootings are very rare in Turkey.
Television footage from the scene showed ambulances arriving in front of the school, where police and members of the public had gathered at the gate. Justice Minister Akın Gjurlek said on the X network that an investigation into the attack had been launched.
On Tuesday, a former student opened fire at a school in the southeastern province of Sanliurfa, wounding at least 16 people, including students and teachers, before committing suicide.
