EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kalas announced today that she expects a positive decision on a 90 billion euro loan for Ukraine in the next 24 hours, which she linked to the outcome of the elections in Hungary, which defeated the previous government that had been preventing this.
She added that EU foreign ministers "are also called upon to move swiftly on the 20th package of sanctions against Russia," the EU Foreign Affairs Council announced.
The head of European diplomacy, after today's Council session, stated that EU countries should reconsider decisions that have been blocked for a long time: the opening of negotiation clusters with Ukraine, the European Peace Facility's weapons fund, and sanctions against Russia on which no agreement was previously reached.
Kalas added that EU foreign ministers at the Council approved new sanctions against those who spread Russian disinformation in the EU and against those who destabilize Moldova.
