London: Two men stabbed in Jewish neighborhood, suspect arrested

Two men were stabbed today in a north London neighborhood with a large Jewish community, and the suspected attacker has been arrested, two Jewish groups said.

The Shomrim security organization reported that the suspected attacker was "seen running down a street in Golders Green armed with a knife and attempting to injure members of the Jewish community."

According to the organization, the suspect was stopped by its members, and then the police arrived and arrested him.

Another organization, the Community Security Trust, also reported that a man had been detained after the stabbing.

An eyewitness said that one man was stabbed outside a shop and another outside a synagogue, the BBC reported.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the report on the incident was deeply concerning. Starmer added that the government was absolutely clear about its determination to stand up to all these offences, which have become all too common in recent times.

The incident came after a series of attacks and arson attacks on Jewish sites in London, including a synagogue and an ambulance belonging to a charity.
