The European Union's (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaia Kalas, stated today in Brussels that, according to the numbers she has, Russia is losing a large number of soldiers in Ukraine.
She said at a press conference that talks on defending European security interests will continue in May.
When asked by reporters about the negotiations, Kaja Kalas said she saw no signs that Russia was ready to engage in constructive negotiations to end the war.
"We should not humiliate ourselves and behave as if we are begging or pleading for talks, but rather we should be in a position to turn these simulations of negotiations into real negotiations," added Kaja Kalas.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, 2022.
