Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived on an official visit to the United Kingdom, where he will meet with officials from that country, as well as the leaders of France and Germany.
Zelensky said he would hold bilateral talks and a meeting in the E3 plus Ukraine format - French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
"Our teams have already done significant work on preparing all the meetings. Now it is important to discuss everything and agree on key issues at the leadership level," Zelensky said in a post on the X platform.
He said that the focus of the talks will be on Ukraine's defense in the war against Russia, greater cooperation for the security of all of Europe in the field of air defense, and reaching a common position on "diplomatic perspectives."
"Europe must be part of the negotiations and must be strong," Zelensky said.
He said that the meeting with King Charles III is scheduled for tomorrow.
"I thank the UK and all our partners who, through concrete steps, are helping us to strengthen the protection of life and increase pressure on Russia for its aggression. Russia must end its war," Zelensky concluded.
Ahead of the talks in London, Zelensky condemned the Russian drone attack on a nuclear waste disposal site near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
