The Ukrainian Navy announced on Facebook today that it had launched a series of Neptune missiles at the Russian military base in Sevastopol, on the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea, which Russia annexed.
"The attack destroyed weapons and military equipment warehouses belonging to the Russian Black Sea Fleet," the navy explained.
Ukraine has shown the world that it is "capable of defeating its adversary at sea using modern asymmetric technologies, such as kamikaze naval drones and long-range missiles," the Ukrainian Navy statement added.
Several fires broke out in Sevastopol due to the fall of drone debris during a massive nighttime attack by Ukrainian armed forces, Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said earlier today.
