One person has been killed and three injured in a Ukrainian attack in southwestern Russia, local officials said today.
The governor of Russia's Samara region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, said a child was among the injured and added that houses, apartment buildings and an unnamed "industrial facility" were damaged in the attack.
Russian media reported that the target of the attack was the oil refinery in Syzran, which is located about 800 kilometers east of the border with Ukraine and has been attacked several times so far.
The governor of Russia's Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, said that a tanker was damaged in a separate attack in the Azov-Black Sea basin maritime channel.
The tanker was empty and there was no danger of an oil spill, Sljusar said.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today that it had attacked two Ukrainian ports in Odessa, while Ukrainian officials have not commented on the matter.
