Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko resigned today, and the country's President Volodymyr Zelensky announced additional changes to the Ukrainian government.
In a statement on social media, Sviridenko said she was "proud to have had the honor of leading the government during one of the most difficult periods in modern Ukrainian history."
She also said she had discussed next steps with Zelensky, but did not provide further details.
"I remain ready to serve the Ukrainian state and carry out any task aimed at strengthening Ukraine's position, defending our national interests, and bringing a just peace closer," she wrote.
Former Economy Minister Sviridenko (39) was appointed prime minister in July 2025, after playing a leading role in securing a mineral agreement between Ukraine and the US, as an important way of linking American interests to Ukrainian security.
Zelensky announced her resignation via social media, stating that Ukraine was "changing its political strategy."
He also said he offered her the opportunity to lead a new important era in Ukraine's relations with a key national partner.
"Each priority area of foreign policy will be assigned to a specific person with significant experience who is capable of implementing what we agreed on at the leadership level and what the Ukrainian people expect," Zelensky said, describing the upcoming reshuffle.
He also said that there will be changes at the top of Ukraine's judicial agencies.
