Ukraine: Russia has launched more ballistic missiles than it produces since early July

Russia has launched more ballistic missiles into Ukraine since the beginning of July than it produces monthly and has used up two-thirds of its planned annual production of 3M22 Zircon missiles, the Ukrainian website Militarny, which specializes in military issues, reported today.

The website, citing reports from the Ukrainian Air Force and regional air commands, said that in June 2026, Russian forces used a total of 102 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles, two Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles, and 15 3M22 Zircon missiles.

"According to estimates by the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Service, Russia produces about 60 9M723 ballistic missiles for the Iskander-M system and 40 RM-48U missiles for the S-400 system each month. Their combined monthly production is about 100 missiles," the site added.

He states that, according to these estimates, Russia has already used more ballistic missiles since the beginning of July than it can produce in a month, and adds that Russia plans to produce 30 3M22 Zircon missiles during the year.

"Therefore, in 19 days in July, Russia used up two-thirds of its planned annual production for this type of missile," Militarny added.
