Zelensky: 17 people killed, 44 injured in Russian attacks in the greater Kyiv area

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that 17 people were killed and 44 injured in Russian attacks in the greater Kiev area overnight.

Zelensky wrote on social media that among the sites hit were a brewery, construction materials warehouses, and civilian logistics platforms.

"These objects have nothing to do with the war," he wrote on Telegram.

The Ukrainian president, who believes the interceptors are capable of neutralizing ballistic missiles, has called on Ukraine's allies to speed up deliveries of air defense systems.

Zelensky called on the G7 countries and the European Union to strengthen sanctions against the Russian ballistic missile industry, which he considers insufficiently affected by sanctions.

Following the Russian attacks, Kyiv city authorities recommended that citizens close their windows due to temporary deterioration in air quality caused by fires following the attacks.
