Russia has the military and economic resources for another year, but will exhaust its capacity to continue the war by 2028 if its current losses continue, the head of Ukraine's military intelligence service, Oleg Ivashchenko, told the British newspaper The Times.
According to him, Moscow is recruiting 1.000 to 1.200 soldiers a day, but is losing 1.400 to 1.500, with a massive mortality rate of 60 percent among the wounded, which is attributed to increasing drone attacks and the use of artificial intelligence on the front.
Ivashchenko, who is giving an interview to foreign media for the first time, said that the Russian headquarters is seeking 800.000 additional soldiers after the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 20, although Russian forces can only train 300.000 to 500.000 people at a time.
The British newspaper reported that these numbers and data cannot be verified from independent sources.
In the interview, Ivashchenko detailed the role of the Kremlin's allies – North Korea, which could increase its contingent to 50.000 troops in the Kursk region, in addition to delivering ballistic missiles, and Belarus, where six video relay stations for Russian drones have been discovered along the border.
Kiev is now considering direct strikes on Belarusian soil to neutralize these installations, which are directing attacks on the Ukrainian capital, Ivashchenko added.
