United States President Donald Trump arrived in Dublin today, where he will meet with the President and Prime Minister of Ireland, while he will spend the rest of his visit at a golf tournament at his home course on the Atlantic coast.
Trump is scheduled to meet separately with Irish President Catherine Connolly and Prime Minister Micheál Martin.
Trump also plans to address American and Irish business leaders at the US ambassador's residence in Dublin, before traveling to his oceanfront golf club in Dunbeg to watch the Irish Open.
Police have set up a cordon around Dublin's Phoenix Park, where Trump will meet with Prime Minister Martin at the government's official residence, Farmley, with the president at her residence, Aras an Uchtarain, and stop by the US ambassador's residence, Deerfield.
In addition, a group of opposition left-wing parties, anti-militarist and pro-Palestinian organizations, environmental activists and others plan to protest against Trump in Dublin on Saturday.
Martin said before Trump's arrival that he looked forward to discussing issues of "common interest" and "affirming the strong economic, cultural, and people-to-people ties between Ireland and the United States."
