German police searched 12 apartments across the country today in an operation linked to members of an extreme right-wing group suspected of wanting to attack police, asylum seekers and Jews.
The Federal Prosecutor's Office announced that about 200 police officers participated in the raids, and that the searches were carried out in the houses of six people suspected of forming a terrorist organization with the aim of carrying out armed attacks.
The seventh person under investigation is accused of helping the group by acquiring equipment.
The announcement states that there are no indications that there were specific plans for the attack.
Raids were carried out in Berlin and other cities, targeting members of the "Citizens of the Reich" group, a radical movement that refuses to recognize the government of the post-war Federal Republic of Germany.
