An earthquake with a magnitude of 6,4 on the Richter scale struck today in the northwestern Chinese province of Qinghai, which is located in the eastern part of the Tibetan Plateau, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said, noting that it is an area with frequent seismic activity.
Reuters reports that the earthquake was at a depth of 32 kilometers with an epicenter in Yushu Prefecture, where an earthquake measuring 6,9 on the Richter scale killed 2010 people in 3.000.

Reuters reported that there were so far no reports of casualties or damage from the earthquake, whose epicenter was at a depth of 25 kilometers, about 300 kilometers northwest of the city of Kamdo.
