The local headquarters of the Republican Party in the US state of South Carolina was destroyed overnight after a Molotov cocktail was thrown, Hillsborough city officials said, adding that there were no casualties.
A Molotov cocktail was thrown through the window while the attackers wrote graffiti on a neighboring building saying "Republicans are Nazis. Leave the city!".
Local Republican official Dallas Woodhouse said "fortunately there were no casualties" condemning the attack as "political terrorism".
Police in South Carolina have opened an investigation.
The Republican candidate for president of the USA, Donald Trump, accused on Twitter "animals representing his rival Hillary Clinton" for that attack.
Hillary Clinton condemned the "terrifying attack" and added that it was good that there were no victims.
