About 4.000 soldiers from the Russian base are taking part in military exercises in South Ossetia, the press service of the South Military Region announced today, as reported by TASS.
"Soldiers at the Russian military base in the Southern Military District have started exercises in which the command and personnel in South Ossetia participate," the announcement states.
The exercises will last until September 24, during which soldiers will practice unit actions during a simulated enemy air attack, passing through contaminated areas in a situation where weapons of mass destruction were used and enemy electronic countermeasures.
