The United States of America is planning a quick and complete withdrawal of its army from Syria, this information is reported by several American reputable media such as the Wall Street Journal and CNN
"The US is preparing for a quick and complete withdrawal from Syria," is the headline on CNN, whose correspondent from the Pentagon (US Department of Defense) Barbara Starr reports that the information was confirmed by an unnamed official from the defense sector.
That official also stated that the decision to withdraw was made by US President Donald Trump.
The news of the American withdrawal was first published by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), stating that it is a sudden turn of events and that this decision will cause turbulence in the American strategy in the Middle East.
The WSJ claims that US officials have begun informing partners in Syria of a plan for US forces to begin withdrawing from the country immediately.
American soldiers act in the northern part of Syria as advisers to the Kurds and other groups in the fight against the Islamic State, and according to the latest information, there are about two thousand of them on the ground.
US officials say the US military is stationed in nearby Iraq and will be ready to launch strikes in Syria if necessary.
