In a traffic accident in the north of India, six students and the driver were killed today, when the school bus crashed into a gorge, the police announced.
Police said 12 children were injured when a vehicle went off a mountain road in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
Three students, aged between five and 14, and the driver died on the spot, and three more students died later in the hospital.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Indian roads are among the most dangerous in the world, and around 150.000 people lose their lives in accidents in that country every year.
The causes are driver negligence, poor road quality, lack of vehicle maintenance and overcrowding of vehicles with passengers.
