Two "tornado" reconnaissance planes and about 40 German soldiers will be sent to Turkey today as part of the German military mission in the fight against jihadists from the Islamic State in Syria.
As previously announced by the German Air Force, the squadron will leave today together with two of the total six "tornadoes" to Turkey as part of a reconnaissance mission over Syria.
After the terrorist attacks on November 13 in Paris, the German authorities announced that they would send soldiers for reconnaissance flights in support of the attacks of the international coalition in Syria.
The German parliament recently approved sending up to 1.200 soldiers, who will not actively participate in the fighting in Syria.
