Today, the House of Representatives of the US Congress decided by an overwhelming majority to tighten the restrictions on entry into the US for citizens of 38 countries who have been able to do so without a visa until now.
It is the second major security measure passed by the House after the November 13 attacks in Paris, Reuters reported.
The MPs adopted the decision with 407 votes for and 19 against.
Visas are also required for anyone who has stayed in Iraq or Syria in the past five years, AP reports.
Belgium and France, the countries where most of the perpetrators of the Paris attacks came from, are among the 38 countries that previously did not require visas for the US.
