The authorities in Tunisia announced this evening that they will close the border with Libya 15 days after a suicide attack in which 13 people died in the capital.
"The border with Libya will be closed from tonight at midnight for the next 15 days," the Tunisian government announced, adding that security and controls at airports and ports will be increased.
The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack on a bus carrying members of the presidential guard in Tunisia today.
In a statement published online, the Islamic State said that extremist Abu Abdullah al-Tunisi carried out the attack after infiltrating a bus and killing about 30 "renegades".
Tunisian President Benji Caid Essebsi declared a state of emergency after the attack in which, according to the Tunisian authorities, 13 people were killed.
