Attack on a bus with members of the Tunisian presidential guard carried out by a suicide bomber with a backpack, who blew himself up after entering the vehicle, a government official said, referring to the results of the investigation.
"According to preliminary data, the attacker was carrying a backpack on his back. He had a coat and headphones. He blew himself up with military explosives as soon as he entered the door of the bus," security official at the presidency Hisham Garbi told local radio "Shems FM", reported is Reuters.
An explosion in a bus carrying members of the presidential guard on Tuesday evening in the main avenue in the capital of Tunis killed 13 people.
The attack took place in central Tunisia's Mohammed V Avenue.
So far, no one has claimed responsibility for that attack, but Tunisia has had problems with Islamists since the dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali was overthrown in 2011.
Two terrorist attacks have already taken place in Tunisia since the beginning of the year, for which the Islamic State claimed responsibility, and which were directed against foreigners.
21 tourists and one policeman were killed in an attack at the Bardo National Museum in March, while 38 tourists were killed in the summer resort of Sus in June.
