A jihadist group in Tunisia claimed responsibility for the execution of a young shepherd in the name of the Islamic State in a video uploaded to the Internet, local media reported today.
Jihadists killed 16-year-old shepherd Mabruk Soltani on November 13, accusing him of informing the army about their movements in the central Tunisian province of Sidi Bouzid, AFP reported.
After that act, which caused great public anger in Tunisia, the killers ordered a 14-year-old boy who worked with a shepherd to take the victim's head wrapped in a plastic bag to his family.
In the video, the authenticity of which cannot be confirmed, it is claimed that the young shepherd was giving the Tunisian army information about the "soldiers of the Islamic State".
"Such is the fate of all those Tunisian tyrants who are fighting against the soldiers of the caliphate," said the video, in which the terrified shepherd can be seen answering questions posed by someone in an altered voice over a loudspeaker.
The boy, whose hands were tied behind his back, said he had been paid by a soldier to monitor jihadist movements in the area. A jihadist then says that the boy betrayed them for money, but the shepherd insists that he has no money.
The video ends with the boy being executed, followed by a song threatening to decapitate others.
