Authorities in Iran detained five local journalists, including two recently detained reform advocates, AP reported.

Referring to the Fars agency, which Western media describes as semi-official, AP stated that reform advocates Isa Saharkiz and Ehsun Mazandarani were among those detained, while the names of the others were not published.

Saharkiz, who was released in 2013 from prison where he spent several years following the post-election unrest in 2009, openly criticized the government in interviews with foreign media.
