Hollywood actor and Oscar winner Sean Penn said that the upcoming international climate conference in Paris in December is "the last great hope for humanity".
"I think it is our last great hope. We should be optimistic about the outcome of the conference because we have no other choice," Penn said in Paris after a meeting with French Minister of Ecology Ségolène Royal.
Pen assessed that everyone must change their way of life, "if they love their children, because otherwise the coming generations will live in a smaller and different world".
In 2010, the American actor launched a reforestation project in Haiti, with the support of France, right after the earthquake in that country.
After the meeting, Segolen Royal praised the efforts made by Pen and reminded that the entire project on reforestation is personally financed by the actor.
Penn, who is considered one of the most talented and versatile actors in Hollywood, is known for his humanitarian activities.
