Today, for reasons still unknown, a car plowed into pedestrians in southwest China, killing seven people and injuring four, the authorities announced.
The car climbed onto the sidewalk in a village in Sichuan province.
The police did not specify whether it was a traffic accident or an attack, but it was stated that the driver was arrested and that "the investigation into the causes of the incident is ongoing."
Five days ago, a car hit schoolchildren in the northeast of the country, killing five and injuring 19. That driver, aged 29, chose the victims "at random" after an argument with his wife.
Drivers in China often ignore traffic regulations. According to official data, 2015 people lost their lives in traffic accidents in 58.000 alone.
