Iran: Ayatollah forbids further negotiations with America

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei yesterday banned further talks between Iran and the US, sending a clear message to moderates who hope to end Iran's isolation after reaching a nuclear deal with world powers in July.

This ban is in direct contrast to the statements of the moderate President Hassan Rouhani, who claims that his government is ready to negotiate with the US to resolve the conflict in Syria, where the two countries support the conflicting parties.
