Hillary Clinton, the candidate of the Democratic Party, said today that, as president of the USA, she would impose sanctions on Iran for the smallest violations of the nuclear agreement, as well as take military action, if Iran tried to acquire nuclear weapons.
"We should expect that Iran will test the next president. They will want to see how far they can go in circumventing the rules," Clinton said in Washington.
Clinton said she would maintain her current position against Iran's non-compliance with the deal and clarified:
"This means sanctions even for minor violations," Reuters reported.
Iran's supreme religious leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said earlier today that he will not allow negotiations with the US on anything other than nuclear issues, which resulted in an agreement with world powers in July of this year.
Khamenei, who has the final say on all state affairs in Iran, said that official Washington is seeking to negotiate more topics in an effort to impose its own policies on official Tehran.
