Indonesia: Plane crashes into hotel and houses, more than 100 dead expected

A Hercules C-130 plane crashed in a residential area of ​​the city of Medan, in Sumatra, Indonesian military spokesman Fuad Basija said today.

At least 55 people died on that occasion, and that number could exceed 100.

There were 113 people on board the military plane, and there are believed to be no survivors, said the head of the Indonesian Air Force, Agus Supriatna. There were 12 crew members in the military plane.

Military spokesman Fuad Basia said the plane took off at 12.08:XNUMX a.m. local time from the airbase and crashed in the city about two minutes later, about five kilometers from the base.
