Negotiations between the six world powers and Iran on the disputed nuclear program will continue after June 30, when the deadline for reaching a final agreement expires, the Iranian delegation announced today in Vienna.
"Since there is still a lot of work left, the delegations will continue their work after June 30 in order to reach a final and global agreement," the Iranian delegation stated.
France Press stated that all parties agreed to continue negotiations after June 30, although this has not yet been officially confirmed.
Iran and the Group of Five plus One - China, the US, France, Great Britain, Russia and Germany - have been engaged in tough negotiations over the disputed nuclear program for 20 months. On April 2, they reached a framework agreement in Lausanne to limit Iran's nuclear program, preventing Tehran from developing atomic weapons.
US Secretary of State John Kerry is in Vienna and met with the head of Iranian diplomacy, Mohammad Javad Zarif.
Other foreign ministers are expected in Vienna today, as well as the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy and Security, Federica Mogherini.
