Yemen: 31 civilians were killed in an attack by the Arab coalition

Arab coalition airstrikes on a convoy of civilians in southern Yemen killed 31 people this morning, one of the deadliest single attacks since the bombing began three months ago.

Health officials said the attack was carried out on the outskirts of the southern port of Aden, where fierce clashes between the Shia Houthi rebels and Yemeni forces have been taking place.

According to the official, families who were fleeing the country in a convoy that included a bus with 16 passengers were killed in the attack, carrying food and personal belongings.

A coalition of Arab countries, under the leadership of Saudi Arabia, began bombing positions of Shiite rebels in Yemen at the end of March.
