Several thousand Arabs protested in northern Israel over Egypt's decision to sentence ousted Islamist President Mohamed Morsi to death.
According to the organizers, around 5.000 people participated in the protest, and they were led by Sheikh Raed Salah, the leader of the northern wing of the radical Islamist movement.
Demonstrators carried banners with inscriptions such as "Cut the rope of punishment!" and shouted "We will not rest until the murderer of Sisi is punished!".
Morsi, Egypt's first democratically elected president, was ousted by a military coup led by current president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in July 2013, following mass street demonstrations demanding his resignation after only a year in power.
After Morsi was ousted, the new government began a crackdown on his Muslim Brotherhood movement, in which hundreds of people were killed and thousands imprisoned.
Israel tolerates the Islamist movement, but keeps it under constant surveillance because of its ties to the Hamas movement, as well as other Muslim groups around the world, reports AFP.
