An Argentine postman was arrested after it was discovered that he kept 7.000 letters in his house, the police announced today.
The postman who delivered letters in the town of Embalse, with about 15 thousand inhabitants, kept their postcards, subpoenas, credit cards, bills.
Police officers found bags full of letters during an inspection of the 29-year-old postman's house after a report of theft of household appliances.
"We just don't know why he did it," said police official Daniel Flores.
Although most of the parcels are not opened, the postman is threatened with criminal proceedings for breaching the confidentiality of correspondence.
