Residents of the Mariana Islands are preparing for months of life without electricity and running water after the impact of the strongest storm that hit a part of the United States of America (USA) this year.
Supertyphoon Jutu passed over that American territory this morning local time.
The representative of the Mariana Islands in the US Congress, Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan, said that the islands will need a lot of help to recover from the impact of the storm.
He stated that several people were injured, but that he could not officially say the number of potential victims.
"There is a lot of material damage and destruction. It's like a mini-war," he said.
