A court in New York has ruled that the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Palestinian Authority are responsible for attacks in Israel that occurred more than 10 years ago.
Six attacks in and around Jerusalem killed 33 people and injured hundreds during the second Palestinian intifada between 2002 and 2004, writes the BBC.
The jury ruled that the victims of the attack must receive $218 million in damages.
The Palestinian Authority expressed dissatisfaction with the decision and promised to appeal.
Some of the victims of the attack were American citizens, which is why a lawsuit was filed in a US court.
