Two people were killed today in a shooting at the University of South Carolina in the USA.
The police state that it is an "isolated case" of murder and suicide, American media announced today.
Police in Columbia announced on Twitter that the shooting took place in the building of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, AFP reported.
"It appears to be a case of murder and suicide. It was an isolated incident at the Faculty of Medicine," the police said.
After the shooting broke out, the faculty building was blocked, and the police ordered everyone in the building to take shelter in a safe place and not to go outside.
The danger warning was lifted 45 minutes later, when the police announced that "there is no longer any danger in the university complex".
