The Islamic State released a video of the execution of another Japanese citizen, journalist Kenji Goto.
In the video, which lasts 67 seconds, identical to those that spread on social networks after every public execution of foreign prisoners, a Japanese man is dressed in an orange prison uniform, and after a short speech, he is killed with a knife by a masked jihadist.
"To the Japanese government, you, as well as your stupid allies from the satanic coalition, have not yet understood that we are the Islamic Caliphate with authority, that we are an army thirsty for your blood," said the jihadist, as reported by Reuters.
Goto was captured in an attempt to secure the release of Haruna Yukawa, who was killed on January 24. The Japanese government managed to get in touch with the jihadists, but no agreement was reached.
“Abe, because of your decision to participate in a war that your allies will not win, this knife will not only slaughter Kenji, it will carry carnage wherever we run into your people. Well, let the nightmare for Japan begin," the jihadist concluded and killed Goto.
The United States is trying to determine whether the footage is authentic.
"We have seen the video and are working to confirm its authenticity," said Bernadette Meehan, spokeswoman for the White House National Security Council.
For now, there is no information about the fate of the Jordanian pilot Mud al-Kassaiba, who is also in captivity.
