An Algerian national who is believed to belong to a group linked to the extremist militant organization Islamic State was arrested in Morocco, the Ministry of the Interior announced.
The statement said that the suspect knew the location of a large quantity of weapons in several towns along the Algerian border.
Members of the Soldiers of the Caliphate group kidnapped French hacker Hervé Gourdel in Algeria in September last year, and then beheaded him.
Morocco has previously discovered several groups recruiting for the Islamic State army, according to the Associated Press.
