At least 65 people were killed and 12 wounded in today's air attack by Syrian forces on a market in a place controlled by the extreme Islamic State, observers said.
The target of the attack was a market in the town of Kansa, in northeastern Syria, where residents of surrounding towns traditionally come to sell their goods, one of the eyewitnesses said, stating that at least 65 people were killed.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, based in London, said that dozens were killed and wounded in the attack, but did not specify how many people lost their lives.
Opposition activist Abdullah Bakur announced via Skype that this attack, during the night, was preceded by several more airstrikes by Syrian forces on territories controlled by the Islamic State in that area.
