Kurdish fighters pushed Islamic State (ISIL) extremists out of the administrative part of the Syrian city of Kobani and now control about 80 percent of the place.
The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that Kurdish fighters, after four months of fighting, took control of the entire administrative district of Kobani from the jihadists, AFP reported.
According to the Observatory, Kurdish fighters took control of the area after fierce clashes broke out last night.
The US-led international coalition announced that at least three airstrikes were carried out on jihadists in Kobani and that 14 extremists were killed.
