Three leading officials of the Islamic State were killed in US airstrikes in Iraq, but ISIL leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was not among the dead, US officials said today.
Among the dead are ISIL military leader Abd al-Basit and Haji Mutaz, Baghdadi's deputy. They were killed in the attacks that took place between December 3 and 9, Reuters sources said.
They also confirmed that Radwan Taleb al-Hamduni, whom Iraqi sources described to Reuters as the leader of ISIL in Mosul, was killed last month.
