North Korea has threatened to use nuclear weapons again, two days after South Korea's defense minister said Pyongyang was nearing the end of preparations for its fourth nuclear test.
The official Korean news agency KCNA quoted the ruling party's Rodong Sinmun newspaper as saying that North Korea "has made clear its firm position that it will take countermeasures, including a nuclear test, to protect the country's sovereignty and dignity."
The US Institute for Science and International Security said today that satellite images from the previous day showed activity at a North Korean nuclear test site, including the movement of vehicles, trucks and tankers.
South Korean Defense Minister Kim Kwan-jin said Thursday that North Korea is nearing the end of preparations for its fourth nuclear test, according to the AP.
