The mufti of Saudi Arabia, Abdel Aziz al-Sheikh, said that the suicide bombers are "criminals" who "will not go to heaven", reports the pan-Arab daily Al-Hayat today.
At a recent conference in Riyadh, the Saudi mufti called suicide attacks "great crimes" and suicide bombers "criminals rushing to hell."
He also said that suicide bombers are "sinners... who destroy themselves and destroy society."
In February 2010, that Saudi religious official condemned terrorist attacks on civilians, stating that such attacks had nothing to do with the Muslim faith.
