British musician Elton John honored former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on behalf of the Foundation he founded, for her advocacy and assistance to HIV patients.
Clinton said she was excited to receive the award from the Elton John Foundation, which was presented to her at the 20th anniversary celebration last night in New York.
In front of numerous guests at the Kiprijani restaurant, she said that a lot still needs to be done to help people suffering from HIV/AIDS.
Pop icon Elton John indicated that he will continue to be persistent and stubborn in finding ways to help those suffering from this disease.
The ceremony was also attended by Billy Joel, Alec Baldwin and the leaders of the city of New York.
During the evening, the musician also performed several of his songs.
